Prism, a flourishing asset-rich logistics company, has successfully executed the prestigious HRRL Project, which involved the complex multimodal transportation of 34 Super Over-Dimensional Cargos (SODCs). The project demanded the movement of a total cargo volume exceeding 75,000 FRT and a cumulative weight of over 13,000 metric tons—equivalent to approximately 130 blue whales. Some of the individual cargo units transported measured over 60 meters in length, more than 10 meters in width and height, and weighed upwards of 1,000 metric tons, making them among the largest and heaviest project cargoes ever handled.
Setting a new global benchmark, Prism transported the world’s heaviest cargo over the longest combined distance—spanning more than 1,200 kilometers by land and 900 nautical miles by sea. All this was accomplished within a highly constrained shipping window of less than three months. Despite the magnitude and complexity of the task, Prism efficiently managed parallel load-in and load-out operations across multiple ports, ensuring seamless storage and timely evacuation of cargo throughout the journey.
The project involved the deployment of cutting-edge logistics assets, including over 1,600 lines of European-technology hydraulic axles, 400+ Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs), three flat-top barges, eight tugs, more than 50 heavy-duty pullers, numerous high-capacity cranes, and Prism’s proprietary modular steel bridges capable of supporting loads of over 2,500 metric tons.
To overcome the geographical and infrastructural challenges, the team coordinated over 60 railway shutdowns and created more than 75 sustainable temporary bypasses, ensuring uninterrupted transport to the refinery site, which was located in a remote and politically sensitive region. Completing this massive operation in just 364 days, Prism once again demonstrated its unmatched capability, resourcefulness, and leadership in executing high-stakes logistics projects on a global scale.
