spotify has this feature called loudness normalization, where it measures every song's integrated LUFs value, loudness units full scale, and turns them up or down to make them all roughly the same volume.
however, LUFs are kinda dumb, they're a kind of half arsed standard designed for measuring speech loudness and don't accurately reflect perceived loudness. so if you can somehow trick spotify into getting a lower lufs value from your songs, they'll play them back louder.
