Russia is preparing robots "Platform-M", an overview
Robots of the "Platform-M" series can be used by Russia, they began to be noticed at Russian training grounds. The combat robot "Platform-M" was first introduced in 2015, the robot was created as a multifunctional platform. The robot is capable of carrying both weapons and reconnaissance and engineering equipment, as well as acting as transporters. The robot is armed with four AGS-30 grenade launchers and a 7.62 mm PKTM machine gun with 400 rounds of ammunition, as well as the Kornet ATGM, this is one weapon option. For reconnaissance, the robot uses the Fara radar, a thermal imager, a range finder and video cameras. The robot can be equipped with devices for detecting various substances and a mine sweep. Robots "Platform-M" were used in the fighting in Syria, but there is no data on their effectiveness. The robot weighs 800 kg, is armored according to the 3rd protection class and is driven by two 6.5-kilowatt motors. The payload of the robot is up to 300 kg. The robot moves on rubber tracks and can work autonomously for up to 10 hours at a distance of up to 1500 meters.
