Hello, everyone and welcome to my channel. Today, I'm going to show you the easiest way to outline text in GIMP using the Drop Shadow feature. This method is super simple, and by the end of this tutorial, you'll be able to create beautifully outlined text for your projects. So let's dive in!

Step-by-Step Guide: Outlining Text in GIMP via the Drop Shadow Tool:

Step 1: Run GIMP
First off, let's open up GIMP. If you don't have it installed, you can download it from the official GIMP website for free.

Step 2: Write the Text
Once GIMP is open, go ahead and create a new document, then use the text tool to write down the text you want to outline.

Step 3: Navigate to Drop Shadow
Now, with your text layer selected, head up to the menu and click on Filters, then navigate to Light and Shadow and then click on Drop Shadow.

Step 4: Set X and Y to 0
In the Drop Shadow settings window, you'll see options for X and Y offsets. Go ahead and set both of these to zero.

Step 5: Set Blur Radius to Zero
Still in the Drop Shadow settings, set the blur radius to zero as well. This will help to create a sharp outline around your text.

Step 6: Choose Outline Color
Next, you'll want to pick the color for your outline. You can do this by clicking on the color box within the Drop Shadow settings.

Step 7: Set Opacity to Max
Make sure the opacity is set to the maximum. This will make your outline as solid as possible.
