Art of the Tread Gauge
It was the highlight of the day when the guys at Modern Oak Construction pulled out the tread gauge.
Because this was a remodel and space was tight, the staircase had to be site assembled. They first precut and installed the skirt boards and risers before using the tread gauge to custom fit each tread. What a great tool and show of craftsmanship.
