The Republic of Uzbekistan is located in the central part of Central Asia. It borders Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan. Its capital is Tashkent. It has access only to the Aral Sea; it has no direct access to the oceans or major transport routes.
