The "jinn" theme, which has gained popularity in recent years, especially with the influence of recent horror films, actually has a long and rich history in Anatolian folklore. According to popular belief, they are often described as small creatures that are invisible to the eye and often resemble humans. In folk tales, stories and idioms about jinn, it is stated that jinn often seduce people and make them confused and miserable, cause diseases, and cause evil by mediating spells. The belief that the jinn are cunning and to be avoided is firmly established.
Speculation about the possibility of inhabited "worlds" outside planet Earth dates back to ancient times. Numerous early Christian writers discussed the idea of "many worlds" as suggested by earlier thinkers such as Democritus; Augustine refers to the myriad ideas of worlds "across the boundless infinity of space" in Epicurus' City of God.
Pre-modern writers typically assumed that extraterrestrial "worlds" would be inhabited by living things. William Vorilong acknowledged the possibility that in the 15th century, Christ may have visited extraterrestrial worlds to save their inhabitants.
Although jinn have consciousness, they are not superior to humans. It is thought that they have almost the same capacity as human beings in terms of reason, because the Qur'an has presented its orders regarding worship as valid for jinn as it is for humans. This is sufficient evidence to suggest that both species are on an almost equal level in terms of reason. However, unlike demons, extraterrestrials are thought to be at a much higher level of intellect than humans. So much so that it is clearly stated in the Qur'an that they sometimes engage in activities that will change the fate of the world.
