Juru double murder: Husband of slain woman arrested, remanded seven days
The husband of a woman and her 11-year-old daughter, who were found murdered in Kampung Sekolah Juru, has been arrested to assist in the investigation.
He has been remanded for seven days until Oct 25 to facilitate police inquiries into the double murder.
Penang police chief Datuk Azizee Ismail said the remand is for investigative purposes, adding that the man is not a suspect.
He was brought to the magistrate’s court this morning wearing an orange lock-up shirt and handcuffs.
The victims — a 51-year-old woman and her daughter — were found dead in their rented home last night.
The woman’s body was discovered in the kitchen with her head nearly severed, while her daughter was found upstairs, face down and covered in blood.
