Fixing the Peter McKinnon x NOMATIC Backpack's BIGGEST Problem
The Peter Mckinnon x Nomatic Camera Travel Bag is easily the most well thought out bag I have ever used. I have had it now for about 6 weeks and it has become the home for my gear. That's partly because I just love how organized this keeps everything and partly because I work in a shared space so its just convenient.
The only real issue I have to take up with this bag is how to lock the laptop compartment and the front zipper. I have seen some other reviews saying they wish the laptop pocket was accessed from the inside where the tablet sleeve is but personally this bag is too large and heavy when fully loaded to have to unzip the main compartment to access the laptop when traveling. So I have found another solution which is to say I am using the solution that @NOMATIC actually designed for their bags. At the end of the zipper run is a small loop that allows you to either run the aluminum pull tabs through for quick theft deterence or if you need a more robust solution you can use these TSA cable locks I found on amazon, I'll leave a link below if you want to check them out. I found these locks to be the perfect length to run through the loop and all three zipper pulls on both the laptop compartment and the front compartment.
