Chingling (Japanese: リーシャン Lisyan) is a Psychic-type baby Pokémon introduced in Generation IV.
It evolves into Chimecho when leveled up with high friendship during the night.
Chingling is a yellow, spherical Pokémon similar to a jingle bell. It has stubby arms and legs, as well as beady, black eyes. There are circular openings on both sides of its mouth.
Inside its mouth is a red orb, which creates a ringing sound as the Pokémon moves. Additionally, the orb can be vibrated to create high-frequency, long-lasting cries to deafen its opponents. The sounds produced can be too high for people to hear, yet powerful enough to give them headaches. Atop its body is ring-like growth with a striped rope through the middle. The rope is red-and-white with short tassels on the ends.
Chingling evolves into Chimecho.
Three Chingling made their animated series debut in The Bells Are Singing!, under the ownership of Francesca. They formed part of Francesca's magic trick, but she had trouble keeping them under control. When Team Rocket captured the Chingling, James found himself growing fond of them since they reminded him of his Chimecho.
In Battling a Cute Drama!, Marilyn's Chingling battled Brock's Croagunk, but despite having the type advantage, it lost.
Chingling debuted in The Rise of Darkrai.
In Yes in Dee Dee, It's Dawn!, a Coordinator's Chingling competed in a Double Performance along with a Chimecho in the Daybreak Town Pokémon Contest.

The only baby Pokémon introduced alongside their evolved form are Togepi, Riolu, and Toxel; the rest were introduced in generations after their evolved form was. Several baby Pokémon require a high amount of friendship to evolve.
In the games, most baby Pokémon are only obtainable through breeding. On occasion, non-player characters will give the player an Egg containing a baby Pokémon, and this Pokémon typically cannot be obtained by any other method except by breeding. Generation III introduced the first baby Pokémon able to be caught in the wild: Wynaut on Mirage Island. In Generation IV, many other baby Pokémon were also available in the wild.
From Generation III to VIII, in order to breed most newly introduced baby Pokémon, the parent in their evolutionary line must hold a specific Incense before breeding, which provides a rationale for why those parent Pokémon could not produce these Eggs in previous generations. For example, Marill, which was introduced in Generation II, could not produce Azurill Eggs until the introduction of the Sea Incense in Generation III. In Generation IX, this requirement was removed, and a baby Pokémon will always be produced, regardless of held items.
