📝 DETAILED STEPS
1. Enable the Developer Tab
Go to File - Options - Customize Ribbon. Under the right-hand column, check Developer and click OK.
2. Design Your Layout
Use Insert Table to organize your questions. This ensures your labels and fields stay perfectly aligned and prevents text from jumping around.
3. Add Fillable Fields
In the Developer Tab, toggle Design Mode on. Use the Controls group to insert:
Plain Text: For names or short answers.
Check Box: For selection options.
Drop-Down List: To provide specific choices.
Date Picker: For a pop-up calendar.
4. Customize Properties
Select a field and click Properties to add titles, set default text, or populate your drop-down menus. Turn off Design Mode when finished to see the live view.
5. Protect Your Document
To ensure users only fill in the blanks without changing your text, go to Restrict Editing. Check "Allow only this type of editing," select Filling in forms, and click Yes, Start Enforcing Protection.
6. Save and Distribute
Save your file and share it! Users will only be able to interact with the fillable fields you created.
