How to Install Newer Kernel in Ubuntu LTS Releases
In this tutorial I show how to Install a newer Linux Kernel in Long Term Support Releases of Ubuntu.
Check what the codename version of Ubuntu is: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases
Install: linux-generic-lts-x (x being codename from the above page) with either Synaptic or apt-get
Reboot
Check new kernel has installed with: uname -a
Remove unnecessary packages
