these mages are remnants of a long dead Thassilonion Empire created & ruled by the Benevolent first king Xin thousands of years prior, it died out during an cataclysmic extinction event called Earthfall. Xin was the first Runelord that practiced an ancient form of rune magic using Runewells (this was left out of the game along with several other things) when the Thassilonion Empire became powerful, it was divided into 7 fiefdoms, each realm was then given by Xin to 1 of 7 of his wizard-advisors, who were also all powerful Runelords (and practiced different forms of Runemagic) themselves. Back then these Runelords represented 1 of their deity Lissala's 7 virtues of rule: Generosity, Love, Humility, Temperance, Charity, Kindness, and Zeal. Back before the Runelords grew too power-hungry, turned against and assassinated Xin, took over the empire ruling it through fear, cruelty, tyranny, and the empire went into age of darkness, evil and decadence with civil wars/infighting between these Runelords. These Runelords also corrupted each of the 7 Virtues into what they call the 7 Sins (Envy, Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Pride, Sloth & Wraith) Runelords who survived & practice Mind/Enchantment Sin magic (Lust) originally represented (virtuous rule of Love) are Masters of enchantment/manipulation of minds/wills/emotions Sin magic & are restricted from using any magic in their 2 main rival opposing Sin magic types which are (for Lust): Gluttony (Necromancy) and Greed (Transmutation). These lust mages get great satisfaction & pleasure from manipulating others minds, emotions & wills, also enchanting weapons, etc. ...these ppl are reknown for getting ppl to do their bidding as their aura of charm is irresistible to many, they can turn ppl against others & have them fight their enemies or battles for them.
they also get a natural ability called 'enchanting smile' which gives a permanent +3 to persuasion checks and the ability to daze enemies several times a day depending largely on their Intelligence modifier (both making it far easier for them to deal with others through non-violence or violence than any of the other runelords)
in return for being unable to cast necromancy spells, or transmutation spells... this mage is made far more proficient in their Lust/enchantment spells & they are harder to resist than the average sorcerer or a regular mage. enchantment spells are used mostly to debilitate or incapacitate enemies with a mass sleep/charm spell or such.

To prepare for the incoming Earthfall and the destruction of Thassilon, Sorshen the Runelord of Lust used her runewell to create the Eye of Desire, a demiplane where she could hide from the cataclysm, in secret vaults guarded by clans of loyal vampires deep beneath Xin-Eurythnia. These vaults were an elaborate puzzle designed to siphon blood from exotic creatures that would be used to slowly reawaken Sorshen once the danger had passed, but she never stirred until Karzoug's runewell was activated in 4702 AR and only awakened after Ileosa Arabasti used the Everdawn Pool to bolster her power.
The Sihedron Rune; a seven-pointed star that symbolized the seven virtues of rule/7 vices
the Siderune shard of Lust is made of Djezet, sometimes called quickiron, is the least understood skymetal, largely due to its unusual form: it is a liquid at all temperatures. Djezet grows red when targeted by magic, even when alloyed with other metals, so djezet is often nicknamed "tiger iron". The rust-red substance is a sought-after spellcasting component, as it amplifies magical power above & beyond natural spellcasting abilities. It is associated with enchantment magic, love, & lust Djezet also has radiation-deflecting properties. Because of its naturally liquid state, djezet is rarely used in making weapons & armor, although in ancient Thassilon it was rumored that certain powerful spellcasters (including Xin himself) had developed djezet alloys.

The Red Terror, a robot in the Red Redoubt of Karamoss, is rumored to be crafted of djezeteel, an alloy of steel and djezet.

Sorshen wields an enchanted weapon: double headed guisarme aka Sorshen's Sinuous Guisarme (double headed guisarme's are not in kingmaker from what I know but you can check, who knows if the weapon type is added in wraith of the righteous) it was given to her by Xin as a gift for becoming the runelord of virtue long ago. when the runelord fell to lust it was also corrupted with carnal desires. the weapon has the special ability to shapeshift into a staff of enchantment to enhance the runelords already devastating enchantment magic;
if mobs happen to be immune to mind effecting abilities charm/sleep/etc. they are this runelords only weakness.

during the Thassilonion empire days divination was not considered important enough to give a magic school to it but if it got it's own school it was probably universalist. all sin mages/Runelords can use some form of divination spells tho.
