Greetings, dear audience.
PROPHESSOR with you and from this video, I start a new free UDMF Map Processor video course (abbreviated as UMP).
In the following videos, there will be various lessons on UMP scripting and reviews
scripts, but for now let's see how to install UMP itself.
First, we need the Node.JS program to run UMP.
You can download it from the site nodejs.org.
It is recommended to take the LTS version, as it is more stable.
After installing Node.js, you need to make sure that it has installed correctly.
To do this, check the availability of the "node -v" and "npm -v" commands.
If they are available, then you can start to download the UMP itself.
If not - look in Google, or YouTube how to install Node.js on your system, or
write down the comment - I'll try to help.
So, now that Node.js is installed, you should to download UMP.
To do this, go to this page (all links will be in the description) and download the ZIP archive.
If you can work with GIT - you can clone the repository.
Once the download is complete - you can start the installation.
To do this, unzip the archive in a convenient place for you. It is desirable that path does not contain Cyrillic.
Now open our folder in the terminal.
In Windows, you need to clamp Shift and click the right mouse button on the free space in the folder, and in Linux - simply by pressing the RMB.
Now install the dependencies, for this we write the command "npm install".
All, dependencies are installed and UMP is ready to work.
You can check this with the command "npm start"
