Nvidia Shield installs
The Nvidia Shield. A really solidly built device. All the components were of the best quality. Was going to get a Vita initially until this was announced but waited on, mostly because of the library of games amassed on the Xperia Play but also because it was possible to plug it into the TV via HMDI and pair separate controllers and use it like a console. AND with the massively powerful Tegra K1 processor the scope for emulating later generation consoles up as far as Dreamcast and better upscaling for previous generations. Now the option existed of either playing on the go or on the TV without messing around transferring gamestate save files!
All the native Android games ran extremely smoothly on here too. Although admitedly the upgrade from Android 4.2.2 to 5.1 did affect framerates on some games(Real Racing 3) but upgrading was necessary to keep playing the likes of Asphalt 8.
Again. this device was limited by pre-Android 8's dumb memory management, so even if you had a 250GB SD card the number of installed games were going to be limited by the number or size of install files on internal memory. Sigh.
