Coded UI tests allow developers to automate important end-to-end scenarios which can then quickly alert them about regressions. These tests can be created quickly, but as with any automated tests, care must be taken to ensure that they remain resilient and can be easily maintained along with your application code. We examine best practices for creating and maintaining coded UI tests, and introduce some of the changes made to coded UI tests in Visual Studio 2012 to support platforms such as HTML5 and Windows applications.
