The hot-dip galvanizing process, also known as hot-dip galvanizing, is a method of protecting steel from corrosion by coating it with a layer of zinc. It involves immersing the steel in a flux bath, which prepares the surface for contact with zinc by removing residues and improving adhesion. The steel is then immersed in a galvanizing furnace, where molten zinc (at a temperature of approximately 450°C) forms a durable coating on the steel surface. After removal from the galvanizing bath, the steel is cooled, which hardens the coating and provides long-lasting protection. Hot-dip galvanizing provides steel with resistance to corrosion, weathering, and mechanical damage, offering long-term protection, even in harsh environments.
