OCULAR MIRACLE COMPLETE - Geometry Dash
Welcome to Geometry Dash! Here we are, we finally did it! I started this journey towards completing this level back in December 2021, when I was still at university, and trying to get back into playing the game, despite my mental health struggles related to university. I managed to complete Reverie and Faith around that time, but gave up on Diligence. I tried again to come back to Diligence in August 2022, but stopped playing the game and got a full time job. Finally, this month, I managed to finish Diligence and tie all 3 levels together, in what feels like such a short space of time!
Ocular Miracle is a level that I have wanted to beat since it was being verified, mainly because of the song that gives me many nostalgic memories from the 2020 lockdown. It reminds me of driving around in the sunshine for hours with no particular destination. The song gives me a feeling of wonder and discovery, and I have great memories from that time in my life, being stuck inside and discovering Baldi's Basics for the first time (lol). Anyway, I feel like things have come full circle, as right now, I feel like a new person, with that same sense of wonder. The magic and passion has truly returned to my life, I feel like a kid again who has just discovered YouTube! Now was the best possible time for me to complete this bucket list extreme demon for this reason. Thank you so much to everyone who has ever supported me on here, and those of you who are new here too!
Right, what do I think of the level? Well, it's incredible for a start. But we must begin with a negative:
REVERIE (0%-25%)
Nah man, this section of the level is not the one. It starts off strong, very consistent and flows nicely, until you get to the 12% spam section. Maybe this is because my spam isn't the cleanest, but I never really got consistent at this part all the way up to the end. It caused me a lot of trouble. It was the SECOND WORST part of Reverie. The next parts are pretty smooth and consistent once you get yourself into a rhythm. But then, we have HELPEGASUS part. I am sorry for saying this, but this part is the worst part in the whole level, by far. I never really got good at it, and I just dreaded it every single time I got there. I can't really mention a specific part that is bad, the whole part is just so awkward and tense to play, and not in a good way! Overall, Reverie is just so slow and I found it boring. When you are playing a level this long, it's not cool to have to play this part again and again for hours. I don't remember liking it too much the first time around either, actually.
FAITH (25%-63%)
Faith is pretty good. I seem to recall not having the best time with it the first time around, but I have to say it gets very consistent, it's just a bit learny. Metalface was a great and consistent part until the last couple of days, and for some reason I started dying there a bunch, which annoyed me. The drop section looks hard and overwhelming to learn, but it is surprisingly good when you learn it, and my favourite part in Faith, closely matching with Jonathan's part. The only part I really have a problem with is the 46% dual, it feels really weird to play even with practice, and it annoyed me quite a bit at some points. The 49% orb part was pretty consistent, except for a couple of green orbs towards the end of the part, which were pretty cringe. Of course, Faith finishes with Jonathan's part and it is the first part I ever learned on OM. It is really enjoyable except for the UFO at the end, which I had some trouble with sometimes.
DILIGENCE (63%-100%)
Diligence has some of the best gameplay I have had the pleasure of learning and playing. The memory cube at the start is so good, and the first bit of the drop is amazing. 72%-75% is pretty awkward and I didn't really like it that much, but hey it's only 3% right? The 75% dual is very hard, and I was scared of it at first, but it is now my favourite part in the whole level, or maybe any level I have ever played! Everything else in Diligence is all amazing, except the last 5% of the level which is really nasty when you are under that amount of pressure. All of Diligence is super consistent, and there was a point towards the end where I was beating it like 3 times in a row. Of course the nerves are the biggest problem you will come up against here, it is very hard to control yourself on such a long and intense level, so make sure you have plenty of Diligence experience before trying this!
