In this video, I discuss the fourth article in the inaugural issue of History and Theory (1960) with Dr Kate Bradley, Reader in Social Policy and History at the University of Kent. We discuss the role of English postmodernism and critical theory on 21st century historiography, the multiple layers at which you can read 18th-century histories, and the concepts of power and citizenship in Rome, Early Modern Europe and the present day.
