OpenMetadata is an open standard with a centralized metadata store and ingestion framework supporting connectors for a wide range of services. OpenMetadata enables metadata management end-to-end, giving you the ability to unlock the value of data assets in the common use cases of data discovery and governance, but also in emerging use cases related to data quality, observability, and people collaboration.

In this webinar, we’ll walk through how to install and configure a local OpenMetadata (OM) deployment. We will also review the OM metadata ingestion framework and the wide range of services supported via OM connectors. We’ll even dive into setting up connectors for one or more popular data services.

Once our deployment is up and running we’ll demonstrate how to find assets and evaluate descriptive metadata, importance, lineage, and usage information to ensure you are making decisions using the right data. We’ll also explore how to apply descriptions and tags to tables, columns and other assets and their components.
