As the affair grows deeper, the psychological stakes skyrocket when Viola's troubled personal life and her husband enter the equation.
Directed by legendary filmmaker Bo Widerberg as his final cinematic masterpiece, this film won the Special Jury Prize Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival and was nominated for the Academy Award (Oscar) for Best Foreign Language Film.
