How I batch converted 100+ Word documents to the latest file format without third party tools
Using only the MS365 tools Word and Power Automate you can setup a reusable flow to batch convert a folder of documents to the latest file format (or to PDF / text). Convert your files without having to install third party tools or upload files to an online conversion tool, both which could be risky options.
The files I wanted to convert were in a VERY old version of the .doc format, and by default Word is blocked from opening these for security reasons, so in the video I show you how to temporarily deactivate the file block.

Since Power Automate will also interface with Excel, the flow could be amended to convert Excel workbooks instead.
