Porsche 996 Engine Noise (Whine)
Have a very audible whine on my 2001 Porsche 996 Carrera C2. It is not dependent on being in gear or out, clutch engaged or disengaged, A/C on or off.. it only changes sound depending on RPM's. The more RPM's the louder, and higher pitched the sound gets. It sounds like a bad bearing, but doesn't seem to be originating from any of the pulleys, or water pump. In the video you can see where I can hear the sound mostly, in the front of hte engine bay near the variocam, and in the rear where the engine mates with the transmission. Any ideas? I'll comment when I solve the noise...
