The main goal of the Dürnberg winery's founders—Christoph Korner, Mateas Marchesani, and George Klein—is to demonstrate how the characteristics of Lower Austria's soils and climate translate into wine. The altitude ensures a cool climate and a distinct day-night temperature gradient, as well as a late harvest, allowing the grapes to be processed while still cool. This ensures that late-harvested wines retain their fruity character. The winemaker's signature approach to creating optimal conditions not only in the vineyard but also in the cellar highlights this character.
