Escaping the Pouring Rain in a Solo Hot Tent
There is nothing quite like the sound of heavy rain pouring down while you're toasty warm inside a hot tent.
This was my second time visiting this remote lake. The first time I came here, I completely struck out fishing, so I was determined to get some redemption on this trip.
On the first day, the skies opened up with heavy rain. When it finally let up, I hit the water, but still didn't catch a single thing. Thankfully, I had the wood stove waiting to dry me out and keep the tent incredibly cozy for the night.
The next day, the grind finally paid off. I pulled a beautiful trout out of the water and brought it straight back to camp. I fired up the stove and made fresh fish tacos.
