This Extech (CT20) electronic instrument is designed for electricians, alarm technicians, cable installers, and others who need to check circuits for continuity and identify cables and wires on a regular basis. Even if the wire ends are in different rooms, it allows a single user to instantly identify and name two wires. It can handle test wire lengths of up to 10,000 feet (3,000 metres) with a minimum gauge of 26. Extech's Remote Continuity mode (CT20) allows the user to concurrently check for continuity and identify two or more cables/wires.
What makes this product a smarter choice?
Number 1. Extech's (CT20) continuity tester has a bright flashing L E D and a loud pulsing beeper to indicate local continuity, making it ideal for usage in noisy locations.
Number 2. Extech (CT20) has a remote continuity feature that eliminates the need for two individuals to detect and label long-distance wire/cable lines when using the supplied remote probe.
Number 3. With its two-lead, bi-color L E D light, this Extech (CT20) flashing remote probe allows a single user to identify up to three wires or cables at a time for proper labelling, needing only one journey to the end destination. This cuts down on time spent travelling between places.
Number 4. Polarity Verification: The Extech (CT20) continuity tester transmits a 20mA DC current pulse through the wire or cable under test to the bi-color remote probe, allowing the operator to identify each wire under test and avoiding spurious high impedance readings.
Number 5. In the Home: The many functions of this Extech (CT20) Remote & Local Continuity Tester can help homeowners execute a variety of jobs, from identifying and labelling new home wiring to installing a comprehensive home entertainment system.
Number 6. Extech's sturdy continuity tester, the CT20, is perfectly suited for testing continuity in environments that necessitate the usage of long cable lines, such as those found in the industrial and manufacturing sectors, thanks to the CT20's remote probe.
Number 7. Wire and cable testing by a single person.
Number 8. The output cables of the transmitter are terminated in a modular RJ11 phone connection.
Number 9. Clips on and hangs from the cable(s) under test without slipping off, and is lightweight and pocket-sized.
