Elder Thaddeus of Vitovnitsa (1914-2003) combined the traditions of the Valaam, Optina, and Gornyatsko-Tuman Hesychasts—disciples of the Sinai Hesychasts. Elder Thaddeus's teachings are extremely simple: mostly almost "primitive" aphorisms, yet they convey evangelical wisdom, full of humility and love.
