How to easily make dry-salted capelin at home.
Capelin is a fatty and very tasty fish, with a flavor similar to mackerel. At the end of the video, I will show you how to marinate it with onions and oil.
DRY SALTING CAPELIN RECIPE:
Capelin: 1 kg (I used 700g in the video)
Salt: 2 tablespoons (per 1 kg)
Sugar: 2 teaspoons (per 1 kg)
Bay leaves, black peppercorns: to taste
Fish seasoning: optional
Curing time: 2 days in the fridge
After salting:
Remove heads and guts. Add sliced onion, sunflower oil, and a few drops of vinegar. Leave it in the fridge for another 1-2 days to marinate.
