How to Create a Timelapse in After Effects (using photos)

In this Sixty Second Tutorial we cover how to assemble and edit a timelapse in After Effects using photos. We look at the following method...

1. Import the Photos by going to File in the Menu Bar and clicking Import, File.

2. Navigate to your photos and click on the first photo in your timelapse sequence, making sure that the tick box for "Camera RAW/JPEG sequence" is selected.

3. If you are importing RAW images the Camera RAW importer window will open allowing you to make adjustments that will be applied to every image in the sequence (most commonly these are exposure and white balance adjustments).

4. Drag and drop your assembled timelapse sequence to the timeline, you may need to resize and re-position depending on the resolution you use.

We look quickly at digitally zooming in/out and panning across your timelapse using keyframes.
