Selecting columns of text across multiple lines
Did you know this neat little trick, which works in lots of text editors? You can select a column of characters from a line, and delete, copy/paste, or type as you like. For example, you could start with
line 1
line 2
then select just the first column and delete to get
line 1
line 2
Especially handy when coding.
