Photographer Ming Smith talks about her photographic practice, street photography and her relationship with Arthur Jafa, who made the selection of works for the exhibition " "Arthur Jafa: A Series of Utterly Improbable, Yet Extraordinary Renditions (Featuring Ming Smith, Frida Orupabo and Missylanyus)", in which she takes part. Smith talks about some of her featured photographs from the 1970s-1990s.

Ming Smith was born in Detroit, Michigan, and has been active as a photographer since the beginning of the 1970s. Her photographs are represented in a number of American museum collections. She was a member of the Kamoinge Workshop, a collective of African-American photographers.

The exhibition "Arthur Jafa: A Series of Utterly Improbable, Yet Extraordinary Renditions (Featuring Ming Smith, Frida Orupabo and Missylanyus)" is on display at Moderna Museet in Stockholm 29 July – 8 September 2019.
