Database structures define how data is organized, stored, and accessed. Relational databases store structured data in tables with rows and columns and use primary and foreign keys to establish relationships. Hierarchical databases organize data in a tree-like parent-child structure, while network databases support more complex relationships between records. Object-oriented databases store data as objects and are useful for applications with complex data structures. Document databases store flexible, JSON-like documents and are commonly used for web applications and changing data models. Key-value databases store information as key-value pairs and provide fast lookups. Column-family databases organize data into column groups and support large-scale distributed workloads. Graph databases use nodes and relationships to represent highly connected data. Choosing a structure depends on data type, relationships, performance, scalability, and application requirements.
