I recently picked up this Sinadder 3, a very useful tool for FM receiver alignment. This video reviews the definition of SINAD (SIgnal to Noise And DIstortion), and shows how the Sinadder 3 makes the measurement. The block diagram is reviewed and as well as a quick walk-through of the schematic diagram. Finally, I demonstrate the basic operation of the Sinadder 3 and how it can be used to help with the alignment of, and check the sensitivity of a common FM receiver (Kenwood TS-231A 2m ham radio).
