Airplane Thrust Required, Aerospace Engineering Lecture 31
Thrust required by an aircraft in level flight is derived. Optimization is used to find the minimum point of the thrust required equation. The importance of flying at high Lift/Drag values is pointed out. This point corresponds to the condition where Zero lift drag equals the drag due to lift.
