Here I show you how to get LXDE desktop environment working in Kubuntu instead of using KDE default desktop environment. LXDE desktop shell has high compatibility with Linux desktop applications and games and low on memory requirements.
LXDE, which stands for Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment, is a free and open-source desktop environment designed to be lightweight, fast, and energy-efficient. It is known for its minimalistic design and low system resource usage, making it ideal for older or less powerful hardware, such as netbooks or older computers. LXDE features a minimalistic and simple design, with a focus on functionality and efficiency. The desktop environment provides essential features such as a desktop background, icons, a panel for launching applications and accessing system settings, and a file manager for managing files and folders. LXDE is designed to be lightweight and consume minimal system resources. It achieves this by using lightweight components and avoiding unnecessary visual effects or animations.
