How To Reset Chrome Settings To Default
In this quick tech video, I’m going to show you where to go inside of the Google Chrome web browser in order to restore all settings back to default.
Resetting Chrome defaults will reset things like your startup and new tab pages, search engines, and pinned tabs. It will also reset all added extensions and clear temp data like cookies. It does let you know though that by doing this you will not lose your bookmarks, history, or saved passwords.
To get started, open Chrome and choose the three-dot menu button on the top far right of the menu bar.
In here choose settings.
Inside of Settings, on the left menu choose Advanced, and then Reset and Clean Up.
Next, choose Restore settings to their original defaults. You will then get a pop-up letting you know what it will reset, and what it will keep. When you’re ready, hit Reset Settings, and Chrome will be reset back to default.
Like always, I usually close Chrome and reopen it before I start doing anything else.
And that’s how you reset the Google Chrome web browser back to the default settings.
