What's Wrong With Our Truck? Check Engine Light, Recalls And Alignment Issues! Fulltime RV Living!
Today, we are finally taking care of our truck's check engine light! About three weeks ago, we were in Springfield, Illinois getting ready to start heading back home to Texas, when the light first came on! The local Ford dealership was scheduled out past Christmas, and we knew we didn't want to wait around in Illinois until then to have it serviced. So, we made the decision to make the trip back to Texas with the check engine light on and hope for the best!
We purchase an OBD2 scan tool for the truck so that we can clear the code on our own if the light comes back on during our trip home. Along our journey, we have to make several pit stops to reset the engine code and after 836 miles, we finally make it home and can finally properly address the issue. We drop our truck off at the local Ford dealership and have them check out not only the check engine light, but also the front end and alignment, due to the recent tire wear we observed when replacing our tires.
They find two recalls while it is there, so watch to see what the outcome is for the truck and whether or not the issues are covered under warranty. We also discuss future plans for the truck as we are nearing 100,000 miles!
