According to a new report from The Elec, Samsung is planning to use a titanium alloy frame for its upcoming premium smartphone, the Galaxy S24 Ultra. This would be a significant change from previous Galaxy S models, which have traditionally used aluminum frames.
Titanium is a lightweight and durable metal that is often used in high-end products, such as aerospace components and luxury watches. It is also more resistant to scratches and corrosion than aluminum.
The report says that Samsung has been working with a Chinese supplier to develop the titanium alloy frame for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The decision to use titanium was reportedly made "recently," so it is unclear why Samsung made the change.

The Galaxy S24 is expected to be released in early 2024.
