Meet the Nguyen's: Danny, the founder of Phuoc Thanh, and his kids Simon and Jo, who now run the business alongside him together with their sister Alex and Mum. What started as one shop on Victoria Street in Richmond back in 1999 has grown into five stores across Melbourne — and they still make everything in house. The pate, the pickled veggies, the roast pork, even the bread. About 1,000 rolls, baked fresh every single day.
We got to see exactly what goes into their famous crispy pork banh mi (their best seller), find out why the bread cracks the way it does, and hear the family's story. From Danny arriving in Australia at 16 to his kids deciding to help keep their dad's legacy alive.
