Can you achieve Photoshop-caliber results using Photopea, the free online photo editor? In this video workshop I walk through a 4-stage Photopea workflow – From Raw photo processing, to retouching, compositing & color matching and sky replacement. At each stage I mention how it compares to Photoshop and to Affinity Photo 2.
You’ll see how I:
Adjust and enhance a Raw photo using basic adjustments directly in
Photopea. (It’s great if you don’t do extensive Raw processing!)
Use selective retouching and generative fill tools for image clean ups
and canvas expansion that produce realistic results.
Combine objects from multiple images using background removal,
layer masks and color matching for a seamless look.
Perform a sky replacement and add a water reflection to punch up the
original image.
By the end, you should get a sense for whether to explore Photopea as an option to replace Photoshop for your photography and creative processing needs – and, how far you can go with this powerful, Ps look-alike that’s free (with ads) or nominally-priced (for an ad-free experience that includes AI tools). It is Web-based, so no installation is needed. It’s also compatible with a wide range of file formats (including PSD’s).
