Bpytop Monitoring Utility in Linux
In this video I introduce you to bytop, a Linux monitoring utility that is written in Python and provides a very nice, clean, graphical appearance to processes, cpu % usage, tasks running, load averages, networking, and more. I install bytop using the pip method in this video. If you wish to use another method on the website I link to below, you're welcome to do so. I think that the pip method is easier since bpytop is written in Python.
Note: I mentioned in the video that I was going to show you how to turn off the initial splash screen, then failed to do that. So, here is how you can turn that off if you wish. After opening bpytop, click on the Menu option at the top left or hit "M" in the keyboard and this will open the Menu Options. Hit the Enter key and this opens the Options screen. Scroll down to page 5/5 and on the "Show Init" menu item, either click on the right-arrow or hit the right-arrow on your keyboard and this will toggle "Show Init" to "False." This will prevent the initial screen from showing up everytime you launch bpytop. As I mention in the video, it's a cool retro screen, but can be annoying if you open bpytop often.
