What not to do when buying a home.
1. DO NOT Make large purchases on credit such as a new car or furniture. As tempting as it is to fill your new home with new furniture, this could increase your debt ratio and quickly kill the deal.
2. Do not quit or change jobs in the middle of the process. The lender will be checking your employment status again right before closing.
3. DO NOT Run up credit card balances. There is always a chance that the lender could pull credit right before closing if they get an alert of a change in your credit.
4. DO NOT start shopping for a home until you get pre-approved with an experience Mortgage Broker. You will need to know how much house you can qualify for before shopping so you do not waste your real estate agent's time.
