2016-18 Ford 2.0T EcoBoost Engine Removal Walkthrough – Full Step-by-Step - EASIEST METHOD!
Step-by-step walkthrough on removing the engine from a 2016 Ford Edge with the 2.0L EcoBoost turbo 2WD Applies to any 16-18 ford 2.0 turbo setup 2WD. This job stems from coolant intrusion into cylinders (common issue on 2015-2018 models) had a blown head.

I’ll show u the quickest way to get this engine out and top-pull method without dropping subframe and without removing bumper or transmission.
(Unfortunately i get to do this job twice as the used engine we bought was bad. But the steps still stay the same. Just dont be like us and fail to verify your donor engine was good!😒It was not a good day🫠)

Tools used: Engine hoist, jack, basic hand tools, scan tool for post-swap relearns.
Notes:
-With this method u dont have to evacuate ac lines 😊
-if u do it exactly like i did you cut book time in half.
-You can let trans rest without a jack if u keep that lower roll restrictor/mount in place. ONLY WITH ENGINE REMOVED
-Post repair u need to do a Misfire Neutral profile correction. Grab Scanner-go ECM-click special functions-select MNPC
-MAKE SURE TORQUE CONVERTER IS SEATED FULLY BEFORE U BEGIN BOLTING ENGINE! (U will destroy your trans if u skip this before install and install the engine with the torque converter unseated)
-Spin engine by hand after bolting flywheel-torque converter bolts and the hellhousing bolts. If it doesnt spin freely by hand repull engine and check that torque converter(u skip this your gonna be pissed if u finish install and the engines siezed up)
