Dame Dash Speaks To Rocafella Staff About The Death Of Biggs' Brother Bob-A Lob (2004)
The friend he speaks about is Rocafella co-founder Kareem "Biggs" Burke's older brother Robert aka "Bob-A Lob," who had just been killed. Dame & Bob A Lob were in the "The Best Out" crew in Harlem together and that's how Biggs and Dame met.
Many people may know Bob-A Lob from Jay-Z's verse about him on his song "Lucifer" off the Black Album.
This video is also important because it is a day or so before the infamous video where Dame goes into the Def Jam boardroom yelling because Dame & his staff were at the aforementioned Bob A Lob's wake and Def Jam only sent an email instead of the usual call about a Black Album meeting. So these videos of Dame I'm posting are literally just hours before the true split in Rocafella.

You may recognize the name Bobalob from Hov’s 2003 track ‘Lucifer.’ He was a childhood friend of Dame’s and was a member of ‘The Best Out’ - an infamous party crew from Harlem. It was Bobalob who introduced Dash to his younger brother, beginning their relationship which would lead to the formation of Roc-A-Fella Records. Bobalob was shot while driving in the Bronx on September 6, 2003, causing him to crash and resulting in his untimely death.
On his nickname, Jay-Z explained: “We called him that because of his ball skills. He could jump really high so they threw him an alley-oop or lob passes a lot.”
