What is MikroTik Hotspot ?
A hotspot server is a feature in MikroTik routers that allows you to provide internet access to users in a controlled and secure manner. It enables you to create a captive portal that requires users to authenticate or agree to specific terms before gaining access to the internet.
To set up a MikroTik Hotspot, follow these steps:
1. Assign an IP address and subnet mask to the LAN port
2. Set the DNS server If Required
3. Add IP Pool for Hotspot Client
4. Configure DHCP server on the LAN port to assign IP addresses to hotspot clients
5. Configure the firewall rules to allow hotspot traffic (Masquerade Rules)
