Simplified Airway Risk Index
Even though we talk about the Mallampati score a lot in Anesthesia, it is not the only score we look at in order to evaluate an airway. The SARI score compiles a number of aspects of the head, neck, body and history that may influence the practitioners approach to the airway. Even if you don’t use the whole score as a hard and fast rule, it has elements to always keep in the back of your mind.
