OBS Studio setup for record your DAW
A how-to by Have Guitar
So, I know more people than me have scratched their heads on how to record both screen and audio from your DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) . Actually it is not that complicated - and looks who's talking: it took me a couple of hours to get it all setup in a working manner! But as I say in the video, once it is done you realize that it isn't that complicated at all!
You'll need OBS Studio, a free software that can record both screen and audio from your computer. But then you have the problem that in 9 cases out of 10 OBS studio will not pick up the sound from your DAW! And that is where VB Audio's VoiceMeeter Banana comes in - also a free software (it's up to You as it's donationware) that can route the audio from your DAW so that OBS Studio can pick it up.
Also, a sidenote; pretty sure I refered to my audio interface as Focusrite Sapphire in the video. It's a Focusrite Scarlett. Just so you know I am aware of that! :)
So, as I was happy to get this thing going I figured I'd make a video out of it. If it helps one person out there it's worth the time it took... and with said I hope you got something out of this video. Likes and comments are welcome, a subscription even more so! Thanks goes out to you who subscribes, as always!!
