One way to create option buttons in Microsoft Excel without using VBA is to use the Form Controls feature. Option buttons, also known as radio buttons, allow the user to select one option from a group of choices. To create option buttons in Excel, follow these steps:
1. Go to the Developer tab on the ribbon. If you don't see it, you can enable it by going to File - Options - Customize Ribbon and checking the Developer box under Main Tabs.
2. Click on Insert in the Controls group and select Option Button under Form Controls.
3. Draw an option button on your worksheet by clicking and dragging where you want it to appear.
4. Right-click on the option button and select Format Control.
5. In the Format Control dialog box, you can customize the appearance and behavior of the option button. For example, you can change the caption, font, color, size, alignment, and linked cell of the option button.
6. Repeat steps 2 to 5 for each option button you want to create. Make sure they are aligned and spaced evenly on your worksheet.
7. To group the option buttons together, select them all by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking on each one. Then right-click on any of them and select Group - Group.
8. Now you have a set of option buttons that work together. Only one option button can be selected at a time, and the linked cell will show the value of the selected option.
You can use this method to create multiple sets of option buttons on your worksheet, as long as they are grouped separately and have different linked cells. Option buttons are useful for creating interactive forms, surveys, quizzes, and other applications in Excel.
