Pennypack Trail - Bryn Athyn Train Wreck 1921 - Death Gulch Philadelphia & Reading Railroad in 2020
A look at the Pennypack trail, where a terrible train wreck occurred back in 1921, claiming 26 lives. I walked these tracks for years when they were still railroad tracks, washed out, overgrown and abandoned... The townships really have made this a nice paved trail since then, and it retains the railroad feel, there are still train stations on this trail, as well as railroad bridges, crossings, signals, loading docks and other trackside items. It is a great trail and at the time of making this video, this Rail-Trail is expanding! There is a marker on the site where this horrible train accident occurred and this video is a walk to and brief look at the location where the wreck occurred - set to music and sound effects with some historical photos mixed in... WARNING - THIS VIDEO DOES SHOW GRAPHIC HISTORICAL PHOTOS of the train wreck (only photos of the train wreck itself no photos of the victims) but with the music and sound effects this could be disturbing for some viewers. This video is dedicated to the 26 people that lost their lives because of this train wreck on December 5th 1921. This video is being released December 4th 2020, one day before the 99th anniversary of this wreck.
