I can’t even begin to describe how proud I am to bring this video to you. These are the first lyrics I wrote for SKÁLD in collaboration with Christophe Voisin-Boisvinet.
The bits we used come mostly from the Heimskringla, while the refrain is the section of the Icelandic Rune Poem dedicated to the rune Sowilo: the rune of the sun.

I know a transcription in runes of such a text doesn’t really have any reason to be, if not as a treat, but yeah…that’s just what it is, bear with me.

Any suggestion and/or observation is warmly welcome.

Justine’s pronunciation is still kinda funny, with “l”s often turning to [r] (and I wouldn’t know why “sk” became [sh]), and a mix of Old Norse and contemporary Icelandic elements: e.g. “ll” sometimes correctly pronounced as [ll], and some other times as Icelandic [tl], or “á” sometimes as Old Norse [a:], and others as Icelandic [au].
